Refashioning and Restyling Class Recap

Creativitynoun
1.
the state or quality of being creative.
2.
the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns, relationships, or the like, and to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods, interpretations, etc.; originality, progressiveness, or imagination:

Creativity is what Silver Spring Sewing Sisters  Refashioning/Restyling Class is all about. Participants in the class brought in items they had in their closets, picked up a thrift stores and swaps.  We explored various ways we could refashion, alter or re-purpose these garments. Some students added darts to blouses. Some needed a hem and to remove sleeves to achieve the desired look. For a few its just a matter of running a seam up both sides to achieve the desired fit. For me the plan is  to take a few men’s sweaters and create a hat, scarf and women’s sweater. I’m pretty bummed that my serger is down. As soon as its up and running will be on my way to some fabulous creations. Step by step pics will be posted and I encourage all students to post pics of their progress and they will be posted on the blog.

Enjoy photo’s from our class

Happy Sewing!
