In these tough economic times everyone needs a break. What better way to save on shopping for clothes than to make them yourself , shop thrift stores or swap with friends.

in 2012 Sew Frugal and Fashionable continues the journey to abstain from shopping in any department or speciality retail stores for any clothing, shoes or accessories.  We will share tips with you on how to maximize your wardrobe without blowing the bank. How to find those great Goodwill finds, shop consignment stores and unleash the power of swapping.  Sew Frugal will demonstrate how a wardrobe can be built, expanded and remain fashionable using all of the above. Yes, we’ll even give you tips on how to sew your own clothing…What a lost art!

  1. Ha! Don’t shop for clothes for whole year! Oh my….not something I could do, but perhaps I’d try if I forced myself to sew again.

    Hmmm….maybe that should be my own challenge as I get inspiration from you!

  2. This is a great idea Jen! I dont know that I could quit shopping at department stores for a year, I am a bit of a shopaholic. But its a good challenge to try! My husband would probably thank you. 🙂
