Tahari Treasure

Almost new TAHARI Suit, Size 6 made just for me. I found this incredible buy during National Swap Day at Nana’s Quarter Life in Mt. Pleasant. I couldn’t believe after and hour of swapping this suit would still be hanging on the rack. See how happy I was, I even posed for the camera with Jackie the owner and organizer of the swap.

Crystal Couture Fashion Show

Last night my friend Chris and I attended the Crystal Couture fashion Show in Arlington, VA at Crystal City. Many up and coming designers were featured and I must say we saw some amazing creations. Crystal Couture marries fashion with image and showcases the sexy, chic, stylized side of Crystal City—in a way that has never been done before. Crystal Couture is part art exhibition, trendy nightclub, fashion show, and hip retail store all rolled into one. And the best part?? Its all free!!! How frugal is that 🙂

Black Velvet Blazer

A couple years ago I purchased black velvet stretch jean like pants from the gap. They are one of the best fitting pair of pants I own. Occasionally I wear a blouse or sweater with them. Last week during my bi-monthly stroll to Goodwill I found this blazer by H&M size 6. when I got it home it was a perfect match!!! $5.96 a great buy!

Sugarloaf Craft Festival

Lovers of fine crafts and art will found more than250 top artisans displaying and selling their unique creations in pottery, sculpture, glass, jewelry, fashion, home décor, furniture and home accessories, items for the garden, and photography. In addition to top national artists, the Festival also introduced new and emerging artists showcasing the latest trends in handmade fashion and accessories, statement jewelry and fine art.

I attended the festival in last week at the Dulles Expo center in Chantilly, VA along with 2 of my girlfriends and we saw some amazing creations. We are planning to return to the festival in April in Gaithersburg, MD to see what great finds we might run across. Below are a few items we discovered during our last visit. http://www.sugarloafcrafts.com/

Exchange your Ways Clothing Swap

Today I attended Exchange your Ways clothing swap on Mt. Pleasant in DC hosted by Nana’s Quarter Life. As you can see the ladies were lined up around the corner. We dropped out items off at 11 and came back at 1 to do some major damage. My new swapping  friends Lily, Courtney and I closed the place down around 3:30. The best time I’ve had all year. I will begin featuring some of my great finds over the next few weeks.

My designs

This little number I designed about 4-5 years ago. With my current hectic schedule I haven’t been on my sewing machine since then. But when I needed something to wear to the White House Holiday party I was able to pull out this classic little number. Midnight Blue taffeta floor length jacket with Empress waist. Accented with ties on the wrist and waistline. POTUS thought I looked cute too. How cool is that?
